My Recipe for Making a Green Vitality Smoothie

Vitality Green Smoothie

Begin your day with a Green Vitality Smoothie



A great way to alkalize and energize your day!

Some people think they don’t have time to make a smoothie before heading out the door in the morning. Then they actually take more time to stop and get coffee and a bagel. Your choice: pure energy or an acidic breakfast?

Making a smoothie is easy, and it only takes 10 minutes!

Green Vitality Smoothie

In the blender, add:

½ can of organic coconut milk OR 1 cup of coconut water or almond milk
1 small or ½ large size cucumber
2 handfuls of fresh spinach (or any greens kale, chard, basil, parsley, etc.)
1/2 avocado
1-2 t of Green Vitality Powder (available on the Product page)
1 T lemon juice.
½ c of fresh grapefruit juice
2 T of ground flax or hemp seed
1 T of coconut oil or flax seed oil
¼ c of water, add to desired consistency
½ c of ice, optional

Flavor Options keep it interesting:
• ½ t of cinnamon and/or cardamom with 1 t of vanilla extract
• ½ c of fresh mint leaves or ½ t of organic peppermint extract
• ½ c scallions, 1 inch of fresh ginger
• ½ t of cayenne pepper with 1-2 cloves of fresh garlic
• In season, add 1 c blueberries or raspberries

Why are green smoothies such an energizing breakfast? When you blend your food, your body can digest it easily and quickly. You get the energy from the food, and your digestive system gets a break from processing. It is a win-win! Green smoothies are loaded with vitamins and minerals, very alkalizing and full of antioxidants. This recipe uses only low-sugar fruits to support healthy blood sugar balance in the body. A typical banana, strawberry and yogurt smoothie sounds yummy but can wreak havoc on your blood sugar balance.

With all of my live food recipes, I encourage you to experiment with the greens you like, spices and quantities of ingredients. Be flexible! You will be surprised at how refreshing the Green Vitality Smoothie can be.
